Jazira Region Human Rights Organization: Wars lead to fragmentation in society

Jazira Region Human Rights Organization held a seminar at the Reading Hall in Qamishlo to mark 1 September, World Peace Day.

Dozens of women attended the seminar organized with the slogan “The way of peace for the construction of a just and sustainable world”.

Speaking at the seminar, Evin Cuma, executive of the Jazira Region Human Rights Organization, said: “Humanity has been trying to establish peace from the very beginning. But power struggles prevent peace from being achieved. World Peace Day was proclaimed in 1981, but it was celebrated many years before 1981. The UN declared 1 September 1981 as World Peace Day. Because peace was important for the protection of the security of the whole world. But wars lead to fragmentation in society.”
