Labor, Peace and Democracy Forces call on everyone to join peace rally on Sunday

The Labor, Peace and Democracy Forces made a press statement in Kadıköy Pier Square on the occasion of 1 September World Peace Day and emphasized that they will not recognize the ban on the peace meeting scheduled for Sunday, 5 September. They called on everyone to be at the meeting in Bakırköy.

HDP deputies and representatives of many political parties and democratic mass organizations attended the press statement, which took place under a police blockade.

The statement said: “Freedom and democracy can only exist for the whole country. If there is oppression and violence in one part of the country, it will affect all the people in this country. We, the workers of the country as a whole, are losing. Therefore, against war, death, poverty, we must defend peace, life, democracy. We must fight together against those who shed blood in the Middle East and those who drag humanity into war. The Istanbul Labor, Peace and Democracy forces, we invite all the people of Istanbul to the rally that will be held on Sunday, 5 September.”
