People of Til Temir: “We will not give up our lands”

Residents of the northern Syrian town of Til Temir, including the Assyrian People’s Assembly and political party officials, took to the streets to voice their opposition to the Turkish state’s invasion attacks on Til Temir and Assyrian villages.

‘WE WILL RESIST ON OUR LANDS’ 

The following  statement was read by İlyas Enter İlyas, President of the Assyrian People’s Assembly in the Cizre Region:

“As the Assyrian, Kurdish, and Arab peoples of the Til Temir region, we denounce the invading Turkish state and its affiliates’ cruel attacks on Til Temir and Assyrian communities. In its attacks, the invading Turkish state has been utilizing all heavy weapons. Still, even ISIS and other terrorist organizations were unable to break the resolve of the region’s people. By taking the role of these organizations, the Turkish state continues the ISIS scenarios.

We support the Til Temir Military Council, the Xabur Defense Forces, and the Syriac Military Council on behalf of all peoples in the region. We urge all relevant states to intervene promptly in Northern and Eastern Syria, to put an end to the killings perpetrated by the invading Turkish state and its affiliates, to fulfil their humanitarian and moral obligations, and to end the Syrian catastrophe.

We will fight on the territory of our forefathers, and we will not give up even an inch of our territory.”
