Death toll in flood disaster in Turkey rises to 81

According to the most recent data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Center (AFAD), the number of people killed in floods in the Central and Western Black Sea Regions has risen to 81. According to latest information, 70 people died in Kastamonu, ten in Sinop, and one in Bartın, with the search for 34 missing people is still ongoing.

On the other hand, two of the twenty buildings in Kastamonu’s Bozkurt area, for which an ‘urgent demolition order’ was ordered after the flooding caused extensive damage, have been demolished. Debris clearance and cleaning operations continue in the district, while search and rescue efforts for 26 missing people are still proceeding.
