KOMAW: We stand with Yazidis against barbarians

The Institution of Martyrs’ Families KOMAW administration released a statement on the Turkish state’s genocidal attack against the Yazidi town of Shengal in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

The statement included the following:

“The fascist Turkish state carried out a new massacre through an attack targeting a moving vehicle in Shengal. Ironically, it committed this crime before the eyes of the entire world, violating both the borders and international laws signed by Turkey as well.

The states of the European Union, so-called defenders of democracy, have become blind against this. Moreover, they maintain their military and commercial relations –closer than ever– with the Turkish state and ignore the massacres. This is a hypocritical approach!

Yazidi people have faced continued annihilation policies. Throughout history, the Turkish state has been primarily responsible for the majority of the 73 firmans (decree of genocide) enacted against the Yazidi community. We, as the Institution of Martyrs’ Families, condemn the latest massacre and extend our condolences to Yazidi people.

All our people should stand with Yazidi people as they did in the past. Yazidi people are not alone; all Kurdish people stand with them. In this regard, we call on all families of martyrs to be sensitive. The barbarian Turkish state will continue the barbarism as in the past because it has been encouraged by the collaborator Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the European countries. However, the Kurdish people will stand against and frustrate this barbarism. We, as KOMAW, extend our condolences to Yazidi people and the families of the martyrs.”
