Police raid HDP headquarter in Bitlis for eviction

Approximately 700 buildings in the Atatürk, Devrim, Gazibey, Hersan and Müştakbaba neighbourhoods of Bitlis, declared to be “risky to stay” following a governmental decree, are forcibly evacuated by the police. The shopkeepers, who were told to evacuate their shops until 17.00 on Sunday, did not leave their workplaces. The police forcibly evacuate their houses and workplaces now.

POLICE BLOCKED THE STREET

Demolition teams, accompanied by the police, removed the doors and windows of the HDP Bitlis Provincial Organization building located in the area declared as “risky”. There was a discussion between the party members who reacted to the demolition and the demolition teams. After the discussion, the police blocked the street.

Bitlis shopkeepers appealed to the Van Administrative Court for the cancellation of the eviction. Despite the “stay of execution” decision by the court, the demolition process is continuing.
