Group of activists from Kiel takes over “Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in Strasbourg in week 478.

The “Freedom for Öcalan Vigil”, which has been going on since 25 June 2012 in Strasbourg, was taken over by a group of activists from the Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DKTM) in Kiel in its 478th week.

Meryem Qamishlo, Rojin Hesekê, Bedia Demir, Renas Zerya and Mahmut Rojava are the DKTM activists who made up this week’s group.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Meryem Qamishlo said that the isolation of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan means the massacre against the Kurdish people and the occupation in Kurdistan, and added that they condemn the European countries, which are partners in the International Conspiracy and maintain their silence about isolation.

She added that Abdullah Öcalan is the will of the Kurdish people with this historic action, and that the only way to solve the Kurdish problem in a democratic and peaceful way is the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.

The group also condemned the massacres committed by the Turkish state in Shengal, said Meryem Qamişlo adding that Kurdish women will hold those responsible, including the KDP, to account.

Stating that the Kurdish people will not give up their struggle against oppression, massacre and forced migration, Meryem Qamishlo added that she has no doubts that the Kurdish people will stand up wherever they are.
