Police take 6 people into custody in Batman and Mardin

Police raided houses in Kozluk in Batman and Derik, Savur and Midyat in Mardin.

HDP District co-chairs Berjin Altan and Ömer Emen were detained during the raids in Kozluk. An investigation carried out against the co-chairs was cited as a reason for the arrest.

HDP District co-chair Selma Özcan was detained during the raids carried out in Derik.

The house of Dersim Yavuz in the neighbourhood of Evîna (Sürgücü) in Savur. Yavuz was taken into custody by the gendarmerie.

It was learned that the President of the Assyrian Women’s Association Teodora Özdemir and the President of the Mardin Assyrian Union Association Yuhanna Aktaş were detained in Midyat.
