Kurds in Rome and Bordeaux celebrate 15 August anniversary

Kurds living in Europe celebrated the anniversary of 15 August Initiative with demonstrations and marches. Celebrations were also held in Rome and Boredaux.

ROME

15 August was celebrated at the Ararat Kurdish Cultural Center in Rome.

At the celebration, which started with a minute’s silence in memory of the martyrs of the revolution in Kurdistan and the world, politician Idris Güzel said that the first bullet fired by Mahsum Korkmaz (Agit) was fired at the colonialists, reactionary feudalists and their collaborators. Güzel said: “This day is very important for the Kurds. It is our renaissance.”

 

BORDEAUX

15 August was also celebrated in Bordeaux and saw the participation of Kurds from Bordeaux and Toulouse.

 

The Kurds and their friends, who came together in Stalingrad square, marched to Place Victoire accompanied by slogans.

During the action, leaflets in French were distributed.
