Political genocide: Two jailed in Adıyaman

Two opposition figures have been arrested on terror charges in the province of Adıyaman. Local politician Yusuf Bağırcı, who used to be a member of the executive committee of the provincial association of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), and teacher Erdal Çıtrık, who was dismissed by decree (KHK), had already been detained on Tuesday during raids by the Turkish gendarmerie.

The two men were jailed late last night. Both are accused of “support for a terrorist organization,” meaning the PKK. Under this paragraph, countless Kurds are criminalized. Both men have been transferred to the E-type prison in Adıyaman.
