SDF Commander Abdi calls on international community to take action to end war crimes in Afrin

The General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazlum Abdi, reacted to the destruction of the cemetery where YPG-YPJ and civilians who fell as martyrs during the Turkish state’s invasion operation against Afrin on 20 January 2018.

Commander Abdi condemned the attempt to portray the cemetery of martyrs of Afrin as a mass grave and said: “The Turkish occupation forces present the cemetery of the martyrs who fell while defending Afrin during the occupation as a ‘mass grave’ by distorting the facts. We call on the international community to take immediate action to stop this genocide and to protect Afrin and its citizens from war crimes and crimes against humanity.”
