PUK deputy Zikri Zebarî says government should stand against Turkish invasion attacks

Speaking in the South Kurdistan Parliament, Kurdistan Patriotic Union (PUK) parliamentarian Zikrî Zebarî drew attention to Turkey’s invasion attacks and protested the silence of the government.

“For a long time, Turkish soldiers have been bombing the Kurdistan region on a daily basis. In the last 50 days they have been attacking the region. Villages are being evacuated, people fell martyr. The Kurdistan Regional Government remains silent. The government must condemn these attacks. This silence must end.”

The speaker of the parliament interrupted Zebarî saying “Mr. Zebari, talk about salaries.”

Underlining that the cross-border operation is the biggest problem of South Kurdistan today, Zebarî added: “Today, the people of Kurdistan Federal Region have a bigger problem than salaries. Turkey established 70 military bases in the region. Turkey needs to leave this region as soon as possible. Kurdistan was liberated with the blood of thousands of martyrs. That’s why Turkey needs to leave.”

Furthermore, 43 Iraqi deputies invited Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kazimi to the parliament with a motion against the invasion attacks of the Turkish state and asked him to share information about the attacks on South Kurdistan and the violation of Iraq’ sovereignty and independence.
