Court in Amed sends five people to prison, releases 13 under judicial control

Five of the 18 people taken into custody in a recent political genocide operation carried out in Amed were remanded in custody while 13 others were released under judicial control.
As part of the political genocide operation carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, 18 people, who were detained in house raids on 4 June. Last night they appeared before the judge.
Five people gave statements to the Prosecutor’s Office and were sent to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on Duty with the request of arrest. For 13 others the Prosecutor demanded judicial control.
Five people were eventually sent to prison on the allegation of “being a member of a terrorist organization”, while 13 others were released on judicial control.
