Mother Şenyaşar continues vigil for justice for murdered family members

The justice vigil of Emine Şenyaşar who lost her husband and two sons in an armed attack by the bodyguards and relatives of AKP deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız continues on its 88th day. The Şenyaşar family came to the courthouse in Urfa in the early hours of the morning and started their vigil at the entrance of the building.

The family went to the courthouse to submit a petition to the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. They have submitted several petitions to the prosecutor’s office to open an investigation into the massacre in Suruç State Hospital and the 23 people involved. However, the family’s request to meet prosecutor has been rejected once again today.

Mother Emine Şenyaşar fell ill after their request was rejected. She had a nervous breakdown, saying: “My God, don’t you see what is happening?”

“Where is my Celal, where is my Adil?” she cried out, referring to her sons who were killed. Her son Ferit Şenyaşar tried to calm her down.

The family addressed to the Turkish Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gül, the Ministry of Justice and the International Observatory of Human Rights on their social media account: “Rights, law and justice are trampled on in Şanlıurfa Palace of Justice. I invite the officials who keep saying ‘Turkey is a state of law’ to come here where the most cruel persecution prevails.
