Gendarmerie detain five people in Adıyaman

Five people were detained in home raids in Adıyaman on Monday morning and evening. Hasan Tunç, Sabri Sel and Aziz Yıldız were taken into custody in the town of Pınarbaşı (Bulam) in Çelikhan, and brothers Ali Süngü and Hasan Süngü in the village of Dandırmaz (Tolmaz) in Adıyaman. 

It was learned that Imam Süngü was not arrested because he was not at home and that the 5 people, whose reason for their detention could not be learned, were taken to Adıyaman Provincial Security Directorate.

Citizens named Abuzer Akgül and Aziz Aslan, who were detained 3 months ago in Adıyaman and remanded in custody on the allegation of “being a member of an illegal organization”, were released after a short trial. In the first hearing of the case held at Adıyaman 1st High Criminal Court, Aslan and Akgül attended the hearing via Audio and Video Information System (SEGBİS) in Urfa T Type Closed Prison, where they were held.

Both citizens who took the floor at the hearing rejected the allegations against them and demanded to be released. The court eventually ruled to free them.
