Raqqa Health Committee repairs clinic buildings

The Health Committee of the Raqqa Civil Assembly is repairing the health clinics to provide health service to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic. The committee, which has turned some clinics into quarantine centres, expands the fight against the deadly virus. The clinics, which were damaged during the invasion of Raqqa by ISIS, were providing significant services to the local people in Raqqa before they were destroyed.

Clinics which offer free healthcare services were established in 2008. There were various departments such as paediatrics, gynaecology, cardiology and internal medicine in the clinics where free health care was offered.

Ebdurehman Mihemed, who takes part in the repair project of the clinics, said, “Our repair project will last 90 days. When the project is completed, the people of Raqqa will have many pandemic centres. We are making a huge effort to deal with the shortcomings of clinics. They will provide significant services to combat the coronavirus. We will continue to serve the people of Raqqa.”
