Şenyaşar family: We are not going home

The vigil of Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in an armed attack in 2018 that involved the bodyguards and relatives of AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil, continues. Her another son Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, joins his mother in the vigil.

The family members sat down in front of the Urfa Courthouse barriers on the 81st day of the justice vigil.

Ferit Şenyaşar could not attend the 80th justice vigil yesterday since he visited his brother Fadıl Şenyaşar in prison on May 27. Fadıl Şenyaşar has been kept in a solitary cell in Elazığ Prison for three years.

Ferit Şenyaşar remarked that his brother Fadıl Şenyaşar resists in prison on his own. He said, “We they will not lose our faith in justice. We are hopeful. My brother in prison is not disenchanted either. One day, the truth will be revealed, and my brother will be released from prison.”

Turkey is not a constitutional state where there is no justice, he added.

“We do not accept to remain at home. We have been persecuted. We continue this struggle with solidarity. Three members of my family were killed. We will not give up our struggle for justice until the perpetrators of the massacre are brought to justice,” Şenyaşar concluded.
