Action in Berlin to protest isolation continues on its third week

The action organized by TCŞ and TekoJIN activists in Berlin to protest the isolation imposed on Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and demand his freedom, has reached its third week. Nav Berlin members, DestDan women’s council and PYD members also attended the action held at Nettelbeckplatz in Berlin.

The protest, which started with a minute silence, offered books in German explaining the paradigm developed by Abdullah Öcalan, and German statements on the isolation imposed upon his isolation.  Excerpts from Abdullah Öcalan’s “Democratic Nation” brochure were read.

Nav Berlin vo-chair, Hüseyin Yılmaz, delivered a speech at the protest. Denouncing the isolation imposed on Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan, Yılmaz said, “We salute the hunger strike our friends are carrying out to break the isolation. Medya Defense Areas are being bombed day and night and this situation is linked to the isolation on the Leader. We want the peoples living in the country, abroad and all peoples to live freely. We want a democratic system, a political integrity.”

Drawing attention to the fact that war was waged between the peoples of the Middle East in 1911, Yılmaz reminded that ISIS wanted to exterminate the peoples of the Middle East before, with Bin Laden’s al Qaida.

The action will be taken over by internationalist young people on its 4th week.
