Activists in Strasbourg deliver files on Turkish occupation to Council of Europe member states
The European Kurdish Women’s Movement (TJK-E) and the European Democratic Kurdistan Community Congress (KCDK-E) launched the “Everywhere is Avashin, everywhere is Zap, everywhere is Metina. Dem Dema Azadiye!” sit-in action on 12 May. The action will last 4 weeks and is taking place together with the Freedom for Ocalab Vigil in Strasbourg, in front of the CPT and other European institutions.
In the third week of the action, KCDK-E protested the isolation imposed upon Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan, the hunger strike of political prisoners demanding the end of isolation, the Turkish state’s invasion attacks in Kurdistan.
Freibourg DKTM Co-chair Leyla Topuz, FEDA Co-Chair Demir Çelik, CİK ‘ Mele Kasım Serhad, European Yazidi Coordinator Carcur Cemil, and KCDK-E Co-chair Yüksel Koç delivered files on these issues to the permanent representatives of the Council of Europe member countries. So far they have been given to the German, Swiss and Austrian representative offices.
