Young man killed by Turkish bombardment buried under military blockade

Murat Yıldız, 28, was killed by Turkish fighter jets in the vicinity of Ağaçpınar (Aşkirik) village where he had gone to make a shelter for his animals on May 7.

The mortal remains of Yıldız, who died in the bombardment, could be taken from Malatya Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) 20 days later on Tuesday, May 25.

Yıldız’s body was first taken to a Cemevi (Alevi place of worship) in Ovacık before the final farewell. Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) members and representatives of non-governmental organizations were prevented by the soldiers from attending the ceremony.

The young man was laid to rest under military blockade.
