SDF responds to drone attacks around the Tishrin Dam

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Liaison Center said in a statement that they responded to attacks carried out with suicide drones by groups affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government in the vicinity of the Tishrin Dam.

The SDF statement said: “The ‘Sultan Murad’, ‘Sultan Suleiman Shah/Amshat’, and ‘Hamzat’ groups affiliated with the Damascus government attacked a facility near the Tishrin Dam with two suicide drones. None of our fighters were injured in the attack. Today, at around 16:00, the same groups targeted Girê Seyriatel with two suicide drones; again, no injuries were reported.”

Stating that they responded to the repeated attacks within the framework of their legitimate right to self-defense, the SDF announced that they struck a Toyota-type military vehicle belonging to the attacking groups and a military position with artillery fire, injuring several of their members.

The SDF described the attacks as “a dangerous and ongoing policy targeting security and stability.”
