Peaceful protesters detained in Hama and Masyaf

Forces affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government began detaining protesters yesterday in Hama’s western countryside and the Masyaf region, where people had organized peaceful demonstrations calling for a dignified life within a decentralized federal state.

After setting up checkpoints in the Merdas, Nehir Barid, and Kirom areas, Transitional Government forces detained individuals who participated in demonstrations in the villages of Belîn, Huwêr, and Selîb.

Meanwhile, in Latakia, armed groups attacking homes and property belonging to Alawites assaulted passersby with knives while using sectarian hate speech, seriously injuring several people.

Following a call by Şêx Xezal Xezal, mass peaceful demonstrations were held yesterday in Syria’s coastal regions and interior areas. Protesters condemned violence and crimes against Alawites and reiterated their demand for a dignified life within a decentralized federal state structure.
