The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) released a written statement asking about the aftermath of its member Muhsin Qadirî (Heval Şahin), who was arrested in the city of Bane in Eastern Kurdistan on June 22, 2025.
According to the statement, the PJAK member was arrested as a result of a planned ambush by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards while he was on an organizational assignment. No information could be obtained regarding the aftermath of Heval Şahin since.
PJAK said that the Revolutionary Guard Intelligence summoned Heval Şahin’s family and showed them the photo of a corpse and some weapons and ammunition, claiming they belonged to their son. The family rejected this claim and stated that the body shown to them was not their son’s.
PJAK emphasized that these claims do not reflect the truth, noting that Heval Şahin was not carrying any weapons or ammunition when he was arrested and that portraying him as armed is a deliberate distortion. Investigations revealed that Heval Şahin was handed over to state forces alive, yet he remains missing and his fate is unknown.
“We hold the Islamic Republic of Iran responsible for the life of our comrade Heval Şahin and are following this process with great sensitivity,” said the statement on Monday.
PJAK called on human rights organizations and institutions working in the field of political prisoners’ rights to immediately investigate the matter.
